Vehicle Description 1951 Ford F100 Panel Delivery Truck Panel trucks have played an essential role in the automotive landscape for over a century, offering a practical and versatile solution for businesses and tradespeople alike. Throughout the years, brands such as Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, and International Harvester have each contributed to the evolution of panel trucks, shaping them into the timeless classics we know and love today. As we look back on the history of these iconic vehicles, we celebrate the legacy and craftsmanship that have made panel trucks an enduring favorite across generations. Henrythetruck.wordpress.com For consignment, a 1951 F100 panel delivery truck with a title verified 32,227 actual miles. True to its color, you're looking at a retired fire company truck, now a collectible piece of rolling Americana! Exterior And yes, fire engine red is one way to describe the two stage Vermillion Red on this truck, a virtual billboard of rolling red goodness and there's not much getting in the way of the color other than the iconic hood trim and massive, toothed grille and headlight bezels in white. Out back, modest tail lights have polished housing and the bumper presents in contrasting white while the side panels offer a blank slate for the paintwork or decals of your choice. But it's just as impactful in solid red! The 15-inch wheels from a more modern Explorer look right at home with their saw blade design, wrapped in 70 series tires with letters out. There's a generous sill and side step between the bulging fenders and wide mirrors on both sides. Getting closer, we note imperfections that include some general inclusions in the paint, rough surface on the hood, roof and rear pillar, a crack near a door opening, a few chips, scratches, and paint burn on an opening. Interior We'll start up front where the red paint bleeds onto the uncovered inner doors rocking the typical minimal hardware of the day. For seats, we have modern tan buckets with headrests in cloth, showing some patina and a seam tear on the passenger side. Things are pleasantly simple up front where the three spoke black steering wheel fronts a body colored dash with the standard two gauges while argent gray covers the grille and glove box. A cut to fit black mat fills the front foot wells but in the back, showy oak planks and red rails create the floor with matching side oak rails in an otherwise completely red painted interior, including the ceiling. Drivetrain The good looking engine is a 239ci flathead V8, putting out 106 horsepower and fueled by a 2-barrel carburetor. It's mated to a 3 on the tree manual transmission that routes power to the mighty Dana 44 axle with 4.27 gears. The vehicle runs on a 12 volt system and the bay presents original and clean. Undercarriage Minor patina and oil on the underside is how we find things here. For components, we have drum brakes at all four corners and leaf springs front and rear. The single exhaust runs through a clean stock style muffler on its way to a rear exit. We're not seeing any invasive rust. Drive-Ability The cab feels just like an F100 pick up until you look behind you and see the cavernous cargo area! It's heavy and grounded and the engine runs smooth and so does the shifting. No complaints here as it tracks straight and stops on demand. The cherry on top of this red cake is that all functions, save for the horn, all work as intended! While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. A flathead V8 with low mileage, a striking paint configuration, and room in the back to take your show items including the cooler, your chairs, a tent, BBQ, and anything else you want to throw in there! And if you need to stay overnight, there's room for that too! F1R2EG11822 F1-F100 1/2 Ton R-239ci Flathead 2bbl V8 2-1952 EG-Edgewater, NJ Assy Plan |
